Explore Hong Kong’s Landmarks and Hidden Gems
Hong Kong offers a myriad of rich cultural experiences and breathtaking natural wonders. Here are the landmarks that stole my heart:
1. Fuk Wing Street:
In the Sham Shui Po neighbourhood, this street is also known as TOY STREET! Yes, a whole street market dedicated to toys! It's a treasure trove of undiscovered goodies.
2. Garden Hill:
There are many breathtaking views of the city, but a short hike up this hill is a local way to take in the Sham Shui Po neighbourhood from above.
3. Lugard Road Lookout:
A peaceful (and not-so-touristy) vantage point to admire Victoria Harbour. Bring along some snacks and your favourite drink and spend some time admiring this iconic view!
4. The Temple Street Night Market:
The perfect way to explore the best of authentic Hong Kong cuisine. Be dazzled by neon light displays and dance to local music! Definitely one of my favourite night-time outings.
5. Lai Chi Wo:
A remote and tranquil hidden gem that’s perfect for some historic sightseeing. It’s also home to the Fung Shui Woods where villagers planted trees as part of a philosophy of living in harmony with nature.
6. Tai Mei Tuk:
Looking for something more active? Hire a bike and take a ride through this wilderness area, exploring the sights and stunning lakes as you go.
7. MingCha Tea House:
This is a literal hidden gem in a Chai Wan factory building. It was even dubbed by Food & Wine Magazine as one of the world’s best tea shops!
Adventure awaits in Hong Kong! Which landmark is top of your list?
